On Aug-05-13 at 13:26:29 PDT, seller added the following information: Narrower and smoother toned than a vintage american or German horn, she is the perfect Jazzer but still has enough cojones to front an electric rhythm section as well.Comes with unoriginal case in fair condition.Questions welcome. Very smooth and smoky, lots of dark lows and some nice punch up high. And best of all, that wonderful Dolnet tone.

DOLNET SAXOPHONE FREE
The worst that can be said for her is that there are some patches of bare brass here and there, some mild spotting, and there were 2 resolders done to some guardfeet which ended up removing some of the lacq around them.Horn is pretty good-lookin', and solid everywhere it counts: body tube plumb, toneholes level, bow in good form, keywork and rollers and free and snappy. Original lacq 70-75%, original key plating 90%. She has received the usual refurb: chem-bathed, hand polished, significant dents removed (actually, she didn't have any, just a few small dings we took care of), keys swedged, bad pads/corks/felts replaced, reassembled, lubed, and regulated into good playing shape. Why they are not well known is a mystery. Near as I can tell mine is a 1970's vintage. My horn has an F# key don't know if they all had one. I soldered a new strap hook ring on the Conn but wouldn't dream of trying it with the Dolnet. The only complaint is the strap hook like the Conn 10m is too high and the mouthpiece will impale you in the chops if you are not careful. I have owned Selmers, Yanigasawa, Bueschers, King Zephyr and Super 20 and the Dolnet blows them all away. Plays and sounds better than any horn I ever owned. 5:39 PM Unknown said.įound a silver plated Dolnet Belair tenor completely overhauled with mint original finish. I'm trying to figure out, to keep it or swap for a playable yamaha or something. I can only dream of playing well enough to be worthy of even Holding one. I like this impressive set of photos of these beautiful horns.
